What is Volume?

Volume on the Meta Trader 5 platform is referred to the number of lots, risk or shares requested on a specific trade.  The greater the volume of a trade, the greater is its potential profit or loss, depending on where the symbol price will go. 


Volume also affects the margin reserved on the trading account for that position.
